Neuesten Berichten zufolge befindet sich ein neues PlayStation 5-exklusives Final Fantasy-Spin-off auf dem Weg, dass bei Team entstehen und sich am Gameplay von Nioh oder Dark Souls orientieren soll. Laut Square Enix sehen wir in dem Showcase u. a. die „Weltpremiere“ eines neuen Spiels von Eidos Montréal. Bloomberg-Reporter Jason Schreier twitterte anschließend: „Sieht so aus, als ob das Videospiel „Guardians of the Galaxy“ von Eidos Montreal dieses Jahr das große E3-Showcase von Square sein wird.“
