DreamWorks hat fünf Teaser-Videos für die Realfilm-Umsetzung von Ghost in the Shell mit Scarlett Johansson (Under the Skin, Lucy, Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) von Regisseur Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) veröffentlicht.
Neben Johansson wurden Beat Takeshi Kitano als Daisuke Aramaki, Juliette Binoche als Dr. Ouelet, Michael Pitt als Kuze, Pilou Asbaek als Batou und Kaori Momoi verpflichtet.
Ghost in the Shell erzählt die Geschichte von Motoko Kusanagi, die als Leiterin eines Sicherheitsteams im Rang eines Majors dient. Das Franchise begann als Manga, wurde aber bereits als Anime, Fernsehserie und Videospiel adaptiert. Der Film sieht den Manga als Vorlage.
Ghost in the Shell erscheint am 31. März 2017.
Wie man unschwer am Profilbild und Usernamen erkennen kann, bin ich sicher einer der größten GitS Fans in Österreich.
Was ich vorweg schon sagen kann, ich bin absolut kein Fan von Realverfilmungen.
Scarlett Johansson ist sicher keine schlechte Schauspielerin (vielleicht sogar eine relativ gute Wahl als Major).
Komm aber mit dem restlichen Cast fast garnicht klar.
Togusa beispielsweise ist eigentlich ein junger Familienvater, warum er von einem 46 jährigen Schauspieler verkörpert wird (der in der Rolle steinalt aussieht) ist mir ein Rätsel - passt für mich garnicht.
Chief Aramaki, Saito und und Ishikawa lass ich mir einreden - eventuell noch Batou.
Aber was zur Hölle haben sie sich neben Togusa bei Boma gedacht?
Ein Charater mit der Körpermasse und Größe von Batou wird von nem schlanken schwarzen Typen gespielt!? Auf den bisherigen Bildern schauen seine Augen nochdazu aus wie Golfbälle. Wer denkt sich sowas aus?
Die Trailer schauen relativ gut aus, werd mir den Film wohl anschauen (weil ich auch sonst alles kenne).
Trotzdem tut es mir immer besonders weh wenn Klassiker und dazu zähle ich Ghost in the Shell neben zB Akira, ausgeschlachtet werden von Hollywood.
Genauso wie man keine Remakes von Klassikern machen sollte, sollte man auch Realverfilmungen besser lassen.
Wenn man die Reaktionen von Fans weltweit beobachtet, ist es offensichtlich dass hier nicht an die alte Fanbase gedacht wurde.
Tja eventuell ein Film für die Massen, möglichweise überlegen Zuschauer auch das Original anzusehen (was ich dem Film gönne).
Mit etwas Glück spielt auch das ein oder andere Kino das Original.
Aber ja, mal schauen.
Ich habe extrem Mühe mit der Hauptdarstellerin. Nicht weil ich Scarlett nicht mag, aber die Hauptfigur sollte schon durch eine Asiatin gespielt werden. Das Gleiche bei Mulan, dort will man offenbar Jennifer Lawrence und zuletzt Idris Elba als Roland dem letzten Revolvermann aus der Dunkle Turm, da wird Roland einfach ein Schwarzer, was Detta Walker wohl dazu sagen würde ;-). Ich finde alle 3 sehr gute Schauspieler, aber für diese Rolle sind sie alle nicht geeignet, denn sie stossen die Fans der Vorlagen gegen den Kopf. Aber zum Glück muss zumindest ich es mir ja nicht ansehen.

Ich werde mir den Film trotzdem ansehen. Habe mir Ghost in The Shell erst kürzlich wieder angesehen (nachdem ich Arize gesehen habe) und freu mich auf mehr. Ich hoffe sie verbocken es nicht komplett.

Wenn der so Film verworren wird wie die Anime-Filme, dann wird er mir wohl nicht gefallen. Die “klarere” Struktur der Anime-Serie “Stand Alone Complex” hat mir besser gefallen.
"Casting controversy[edit]
The casting of Johansson in the lead role caused accusations of whitewashing.[19][20][21] As it is still unclear if Johansson’s character will retain her Japanese name, fans have argued that changing both the Japanese setting and main character’s name to make the film a complete cultural adaptation would be a wiser decision.[22] It has been alleged that the filmmakers at one point commissioned the usage of CGI and other visual effects testing to alter Johansson’s appearance in order to make her ethnicity appear Asian, spurring further backlash,[23] including an ironic video response from popular YouTube filmmaker Freddie Wong.[24][25] Paramount has stated the tests were short-lived and did not involve Johansson.[26] Some fans as well as people working in the industry have claimed the controversy is a symptom of a bigger issue, and that modern Hollywood fears casting non-white actors would bring films less of a profit than white actors would bring.[26][27] Marc Bernardin of Los Angeles Times commented that “the only race Hollywood cares about is the box office race.”[28]
In Japan, fans of the manga were surprised that the casting caused controversy with many already assuming that the Hollywood production would choose a white actress in the lead role, since they consider that not too much attention should be paid to the physical appearance of the main protagonist because the dominant themes in Ghost in the Shell are the nature of self-identity and how it becomes affected with the use of different cyborg bodies that host human cyber-brains.[29] Sam Yoshiba, director of the international business division at Kodansha’s Tokyo headquarters (the company which holds the rights to the series and its characters) said, “Looking at her career so far, I think Scarlett Johansson is well cast. She has the cyberpunk feel. And we never imagined it would be a Japanese actress in the first place… this is a chance for a Japanese property to be seen around the world.”[29][30]
Producer Steven Paul addressed the controversy, referring to the setting of the film as “an international world”, stating “There [are] all sorts of people and nationalities in the world in Ghost in the Shell. We’re utilizing people from all over the world. There’s Japanese in it. There’s Chinese in it. There’s English in it. There’s Americans in it.”[31]
Und, hat schon jemand den Film gesehen? Werde ihn mir in 1-2 Wochen geben.
Er ist leider inhaltlich sehr oberflächlich geworden - zumindest für Kenner der Anime Vorlagen. Die Optik und Inszenierung einzelner Szenen ist im Kino aber schon beindruckend.
